6-Foot Lighted Globe – Rotating Ghosts

6-Foot Lighted Globe - Rotating Ghosts

I’m sure last year you saw the new Christmas inflatable decorations sprinkle the landscape of suburbia. Well, Halloween has joined the ranks with several types of inflatable globes including this one with two floating ghosts inside.

Measuring five feet wide and six feet tall, the globe is suitable for inside or outside use and requires just an outlet to give juice to the blower to inflate.

Check out the video of the product from Smarthome.

Floating Ghost

Floating Ghost

We’re kicking off the first week of our third annual Halloween gizmos with a sound and motion-activated ghost. This ghost appears to float in mid-air raising and lowering his hands and emitting an evil laugh as Halloween party guests and trick-or-treaters pass by.

Check out the video of the floating ghost in action.

American DJ Mister Kool Fog Machine

American DJ Mister Kool Fog Machine

The American DJ Mister Kool Fog Machine brings you a dry ice effect with low-lying dense fog using just standard fog juice and ice cubes. As a geek I imagine fog and lights for karoke night in the home theater. Another opportunity for the fog machine is coming up next month for Halloween and Halloween parties.

Granted dry ice is fun, but a fog machine is just safer if you have little ones running around or liquored up guests that lose control of their abilities to remember dry ice is really cold.

“12 Gizmos of Christmas” – 2005 Recap

We have been remiss! We didn’t bring you a recap of this year’s 12 Gizmos of Christmas yet. Hopefully, this will be just in time for you to make those last minute purchases 😉 Well, without further ado, here they are….

#12 – PDAs/Messaging

“12 Gizmos of Christmas”: #12 – PDAs/Messaging

After researching though the various online and print magazine as well as checking various online vendors of actual sales and items most wished for, the Geeks at Gizmos for Geeks have determined that the 12th most popular gizmo category wished for is “PDAs/Messaging”.

To be honest, we thought this category was all but dead due to convergence of PDAs/Messaging and Cell Phones with devices like Treos and Blackberrys.

With devices that can practically replace laptops for most people due to better video, wireless technology, quicker processors and applications that can run Powerpoint, Excel and Word documents… we’re now not so surprised so many people want PDAs or Messaging devices and may just add this to our wish lists!

Wired Magazine Opens Store in NYC for the Holidays

Do you live in New York City? If you do, then as a true-blooded gadget-loving geek, you need to go check out the gadget store that Wired magazine has set up just for the holidays. But you’ve got to be careful you don’t miss it, b/c it turns into a pumpkin on Christmas Eve (Dec 24, 2005). Located in the SOHO district, the Wired store features more than 65 products ranging from the hot new Motorola PEBL phone to the Ultimate Gaming chair. And get this: they’re auctioning off a trip into suborbital space; you can bid on it at the store.

MP3 Players High On Holiday Gadget Lists

It looks like consumer electronics retailers will have a good holiday season this year with an estimated growth of 9% with MP3 players leading the pack. In fact, MP3 players are estimated to increase eight percentage points in consumer interest from 20% to 28% from last year to this year.

What I found interesting in the article is that more people buy gift certificates (32%) than any sinle electronics category. Perhaps parents have finally figured out they do not know how to pick out the right video game, the wanted MP3 player or the correct internal PC component on wish lists.

72-Inch Animated Reaper w/Light & Sound

72-Inch Animated Reaper w/Light & Sound

The 72-Inch Animated Reaper w/Light & Sound is easy to assemble, setting up in minutes. This Halloween prop is tall, but he’s light, so you can place him anywhere he’s likely to amuse or frighten your guests.

Who’s standing guard at the door at your house this Halloween? Give trick-or-treaters or your Halloween party guests a start when the door opens this year. The 72-Inch Animated Reaper w/Light & Sound looms over 6 feet tall, and when he detects motion or sound from the living, he responds with flashing eyes and a ghoulish laugh, and he shudders with delight at the prospect of a new victim. The 72-Inch Animated Reaper w/Light & Sound runs on three AA batteries.

Crawling Skeleton Hand

Crawling Skeleton Hand

At first glance, it appears like any other innocent Halloween decoration. But put down your glass, or make any other loud sound, and this lifesize hand will come to life, crawling towards its next victim. It’s like something right out of a horror flick.

The Crawling Skeleton Hand looks creepy enough as it is. But the creepiness only increases once it starts crawling in response to any loud noise. Includes 3 AA batteries.
