Welcome to the future and the next evolution of the iPad by pre-ordering this Star Trek PADD (Personal Access Display Device). I’m not sure, but the PADD may not be ready for shipment until 2364 even though the site says it’s shipping in June 2010.

The Star Trek PADD is a large touchscreen display with minimalistic manual interface of one or two buttons much like the iPad. The design is but the tip of the iceberg however as the typical PADD can be used for anything from logging manifests, compiling duty rosters or diagnostic reports or seemly everything, entering personal data and access library computer systems.

Chopper 2 for iPad uses iPhone as Controller

Chopper for the iPhone reached the #1 paid game on the US charts and sold over a million downloads and now Majic Jungle Software is working on a sequel aptly named Chopper 2. With an all new 3D game engine, new enemies, weapons, graphics and missions, the sequel demos look great.

The initial release date was prior to the holiday season of 2009 but has shifted to Jun 2010 (one month away!).

Super NES on iPad using the Wiimote

The Spirit jailbreak for the iPad was barely released when some of the more impressive features of the iPad were released without Apple’s consent. One of the more exciting hacks is the demo of Super Mario World being played on the Super NES emulator using a Wiimote (Wii Remote) as the controller after the break. Once jailbroken, you need snes4iphone ($5.99 from Cydia, which is the app store for jailbreak apps).

Watch as 80s video game characters turn NYC into pixels

This is video is (insert your own superlative here); let’s just say fantastic. Or perhaps as the Guinness guys say “Brilliant!”

What would happen if a bunch of very pixelated video games came to life and ‘attacked’ New York City? I’ve watched this 3 times already, and it’s still amazing. PS> You may want to hit YouTube directly to see it in big(ger) screen glory.
