Sony DSC-T10 7.2 Megapixel Digital Camera

Sony DSC-T10 7.2 Megapixel Digital Camera

Sony may be in the doghouse for shipping too few PS3’s on initial launch, but they still do make rocking digital cameras. Take the DSC-T10 for example. It is a 7.2 Megapixel camera, with a Carl Zeiss® Vario-Tessar® lens with 3X optical zoom and 5 area multi-point auto focus. It includes a full-sized 2.5″ hybrid LCD monitor with Clear Photo technology for improved viewing in bright sunlight in a compact design. It comes with 32MB of internal memory, but naturally has a slot for Memory Stick Duo and Memory Stick PRO Duo cards. The zoom works up to 14X at VGA resolution. And for the aesthetic touch, it also comes in 4 colors.

Canon Powershot Digital ELPH SD630

Canon Powershot Digital ELPH SD630

We chose the Canon Powershot Digital ELPH SD630 for two reasons. The first reason we chose the camera is because it ranks as a best seller on most of the online stores we check. Also, we’re a fan of the whole Canon ELPH form factor for cameras and the SD630 provides a 3″ LCD screen in a sleek and sharp design.

The second reason we chose the Canon Powershot Digital ELPH SD630… Maria Sharapova endorses it! After all, she must get photographed a lot so maybe she knows a good camera right? Eh… who cares?

Canon Digital Rebel XTi 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera

Canon Digital Rebel XTi 10.1MP Digital SLR Camera

The cost of Digital SLR Cameras are fast approaching the cost of nice Digital Non-SLR Cameras providing increased flexibility so we had to include a Canon Digital Rebel XTi Digital SLR Camera. The SLR cameras can use the same SLR lens you use to use on your old analog SLR cameras allowing you to add a super telephoto zoom lens or a ultra-wide angle lens which you obviously cannot use on your Digital Non-SLR Camera (note: the Canon Digital Rebel XTi Digital SLR Camera supports all Canon lenses in the EF lineup).

For people that want a digital camera they can bring everywhere and aren’t looking to create studio quality photographs that can be blown up, you should check out our other two picks today, but if you are looking for a Digital Camera that is larger with more features and unlimited lens choices… check out the Canon Digital Rebel XTi.

Canon Elura 100 MiniDV Camcorder

Canon Elura 100 MiniDV Camcorder

Ok, high-defness aside, the Canon Elura 100 MiniDV camcorder is the current best selling digital camcorder due to it’s value. At slightly more than $300, this digital camcorder is small, light and best of all it shoots good quality video! Another plus is the Image Stabilization feature which could even straighten out video shot by my father-in-law!

Overall, if you not ready to spend well over three times the price of this camcorder for a high-definition digital camcorder, the Elura is the way to go.

JVC Everio GZ-MG505 Hard Drive Digital Camcorder

JVC Everio GZ-MG505 Hard Drive Digital Camcorder

Hey, anything that costs over a grand has to be good, right? Ok, ok, that’s a bad joke. The serious part is that this digital camcorder rocks. My favorite feature? You can edit or delete specific parts of your footage on the camera itself. That is due in large part to the Everio containing a 30GB hard drive. That’s 10 hours of DVD Camcorder-Quality Video with its 3-CCD imaging device at either 16:9 (widescreen) or 4:3 aspect ratios. It also takes still pics with its 5 Megapixel camera and comes wtih a nice variety of software to deal with all of the video you’re going to be shooting.

Sony HDR-SR1 AVCHD 4MP 30GB High-Definition Hard Disk Drive Camcorder with 10x Optical Zoom

Sony HDR-SR1 AVCHD 4MP 30GB High-Definition Hard Disk Drive Camcorder with 10x Optical Zoom

With this high definition digital camcorder you’ll need to make sure makeup is properly applied and that every hair is in it’s place in your family videos. Using AVCHD technology, video is compressed using MPEG-4 AVC (H.264) which is a better compression scheme than MPEG-2 allowing for less storage space but better quality. You can also record in Dolby Digital 5.1-channel surround sound with the built-in microphone.

All this without having to carry a couple Mini-DV tapes… but you better carry a laptop to backup your video as the disc space disappears quickly in high-definition.

Sony GPS-CS1 GPS Device for CyberShot Digital Cameras

Sony GPS-CS1 GPS Device for CyberShot Digital Cameras

This brilliant GPS gadget allows you to keep track of when and where your photos were taken allowing you to organize your photos geographically! You need to connect the device to your computer to import the logged data and then download your digital images to the computer. Then, the supplied GPS Image Tracker software synchronizes the images with the GPS coordinates using the time readings from the GPS-CS1.

Once the information has been synchronized the photos can be represented as push pins on an online map (courtesy of Google Maps) by activating the Picture Motion Browser software that comes bundled with the latest Sony cameras and camcorders.

If you tend to stay around your home, this product may not be for you, but if you enjoy taking pictures and traveling this must be on your wishlist.

Sony Ericsson K790a Cell Phone

Sony Ericsson K790a Cell Phone

We don’t usually feature too many cell phones here, because there are just *soooo* many of them being released all the time. Yes, the latest ones usually beat the older ones in features, weight and sometimes price, but that’s what we’ve come to expect, isn’t it? Well, we’ll give the latest Sony Ericsson a plug because its digital camera promises to blow away most existing camera phones. So what does it pack? It has 3.2 megapixels with autofocus, built-in xenon flash and image and video stabilizer function. Share your pics by Bluetooth’ing (yes, I just made that up) them to your blog or friends. Get great shots by using the BestPic technology; it takes 4 pics before and after you complete the button press. You get to the pick the best one(s).
