Suppose you could watch every TV show you ever wanted to. Every sitcom, drama, news program, special, cooking show, adult movie, regular movie, children’s show, sports event. If you could indulge your taste in everything TV, would you still have enough time to eat, sleep, go to work, take care of the kids, do the housework, see family and friends and go to the bathroom? This question is not science fiction. Because of a new electronic gizmo that sits atop your TV, the digital video recorder, a.k.a. DVR, we are halfway to watching all the TV we want, 24/7. The DVR in its various versions offers couch potatoes much greater choice and convenience than its predecessor, the VCR.
