Review: Krypton iPhone/iPod Touch Screen Armor

Krypton Screen Armor for iPhones The Geeks received some Krypton Products a couple months ago then put the products to real world testing. This review concentrates on the Krypton iPhone Screen Armor.

In each Screen Armor box you receive two films, a microfiber cloth, a Krypton Sticky (to remove pesky air bubbles) and an Application Card to apply the screen armor to the screen. As you can see from the picture (taken by Gadget Girl Photos), Krypton Products have several screen armor versions for the iPhone Ultra-Clear, Anti-Glare, Mirror and 360 Privacy with different film versions. The film names speak for themselves. For example, the Anti-Glare screen removes the glare from direct light whereas the Ultra-Clear film is transparent.

Rē App turns your iPhone or iPod touch into a Universal Remote Control

Re Universal Remote iPhone app/accessoryThe NewKinetix Rē iPhone accessory together with the Rē App turns your iPhone or iPod touch into a Universal Remote Control. If you haven’t gotten a decent universal remote (like the Logitech Harmony), then consider outfitting your iPhone.

The accessory plugs into your iPhone’s connector and the Rē App (free download from the App Store) makes setup easy with its database of IR codes so you don’t need to manually program it based on your other remotes. The app allows for macros so you for example, program one-button for turning on the TV, cable box, and DVR all in one go.

Maintain favorite lists, channels and take your universal remote anywhere you go.

In fact, take the AcuTouch 9500 Massage Chair, which interfaces with your iPhone or iPod Touch via Bluetooth.

But put aside the iPhone app for a second and consider how decked out this chair really is. It aims to simulate the hands and techniques of expert therapists and even includes dual-lumbar back heat, foot and calf massagers, and uses sensors to map the pressure points along your back.

#CES09: Ten One Design’s Gadgets Fix Fustrations of Capactive Touch Screens

Ten One Design launched several products lately including the Pogo Stylus in September and the Pogo Sketch less than a month ago.

Ten One Design’s gadgets help consumers that are frustrated by the capacitive touch screens of the iPhone, iPod touch and MacBook due to consumers with fingernails that are a bit too long to accurately use the touch screens or due to fat-fingering.

Pogo Stylus is the world’s first iPod touch- and iPhone-Compatible Stylus while the Pogo Sketch provides drawing capability using the latest multitouch MacBook trackpad. The trackpad is actually transformed into a pen tablet for premium drawing programs and other artistic applications.

The Pogo Sketch’s tip is made of advanced material that acts as a bridge by transferring the signal from the display to the user’s hand.

Both the Pogo Stylus and Pogo Sketch are available from the Ten One Design website for starting at $14.95.

The New iPod Line-up; iPhone is $200 cheaper

Apple has just announced the latest in its iPod line of portable music products. The most notable is the iPod Touch which looks remarkably like an iPhone, and has touch screen features like an iPhone as well as WiFi access. It also has the same browser as the iPhone providing access to the Web. Included in the revamped line-up are new Nanos which are now able to show videos and come in a smaller form factor and multiple colors.

Apple also announced that they’re cutting the price on the 8GB iPhone from $599 to $399. That this price cut happened so soon after initial release has industry analysts wondering if Apple/AT&T is suffering from lack of demand. Given that the 8GB iPod Touch costs $299, perhaps more people will be willing to consider getting an iPhone if they were already thinking abou the Touch.
